Game Recap

The game started with the Owls letting Brentwood dictate the style and speed of how the game was going to be played. Windsor couldn’t quite get their desired style down and it showed on the scoreboard as the game went to half at 0-0. After refocusing at half time the Owls went right at Brentwood in the second half, but Brentwood withstood the early push and was able to counter for a corner kick. Brentwood would score on that corner kick to go up 1-0. Windsor kept their composure after going down and stayed with the process of how to play the game. With that the Owls scored 7 minutes later when Dylan Sullivan took control of the ball and put it through for Esteban Borja Pena to walk it in 1-on-1 with the goalie. That goal would remind the Owls of why they need to play the way they were in the second half and they started to create numerous opportunities. Windsor would finally get the second goal 10 minutes later, when Sullivan would receive the ball in the middle of the field about five feet from the top of the box. He would send a short slot pass to the right side of the goal, for an oncoming Connor Portlock, who would one-time the shot for the 2-1 lead. The Owls tightened up their defensive setup to preserve the lead. Austin Bagley would make 8 saves in the game. Final score 2-1. (8-11-1)
